Phelan Construction is proud to announce that we have been awarded the 4-year construction framework contract by Essex County Council. After fending off stiff competition through both the pre-qualification and tender stages Phelan Construction was one of five contractors appointed to the £50k – £2m tier of the framework. The framework has been put in place in order to procure and deliver the extensive pipeline of school expansion projects required in order to cope with the increasing demand for school places in the county.
The spend over the life of the framework is set to run into the hundreds of millions with the spend for 2016 estimated at £65m alone. All of the projects will be procured through a two-stage design and build route meaning that Phelan Construction will have to work with its supply chain partners to work the design up from a client brief and follow it all the way through to completion. The team are hugely excited about this new challenge and delighted to have secured this prestigious contract.
