After winning the project to extend and refurbish the four-storey Grade II listed Clarence pub in Whitehall for gastro pub chain Geronimo Inns Phelan Construction have now been awarded their second contract for this client. The project in Woolwich involves converting the old guardhouse at the Woolwich Arsenal into a new Geronimo Inns venue. The work including piling and basement works as well as extending the existing building before reconfiguring and fitting out the premises to form this unique new public house. Geronimo Inns who were bought out by London brewers Young’s and Co in 2010 for £60m form a niche brand within the expanding portfolio of properties owned by Young’s.
Phelan Construction is proud to be part of the continued expansion plans for the brand and we hope to be working on further projects in the future. Both the Clarence and the Guardhouse projects are due to complete in October 2015 and we look forward to posting images of the finished projects towards the end of the year.
